been a while thought I’d update you guys about whats going on. Here is a blow by blow account:

Saturday(2 days ago)
There was a typhoon in Tokyo. Cold wind. Hard rain. I played hoops though from 1pm to 5pm. Loads of fun. Made a few shots which made me feel real good. Is there anything better than making a winning basket when EVERYONE knows you are going to shoot it? hahahah…Yes I live in fantasyland. When the game is tied, and the next basket wins it…I channel my inner MJ circa 1997-1998. Which, by the way, to all of you hoops fans…is the BEST season of the NBA of my lifetime. hahaha, yes I am an oldie. Think Game 1 of the Finals between Utah and the Bulls. MJ wins it at the buzzer. I try to copy the same movve, fake, same crossover. Even the same fadeaway…the most unstoppable move in basketball.

Oh well, by the way, I am 34 years old. Hehehe…real mature, right?

On to other stuff…

Saturday night.
Went to church (Tokyo Baptist Church) and attended the 7pm service. Great worship music and wonderful message. Straight to the point. The message? GOD IS.
No matter what our circumstance, God is. When it seems God is NOT…God is. Check out www.tokyobaptist.org for details on the message. TBC is a church that is truly a blessing. And did I mention the offertory song done by two amazing singers. An elder lady whose name escapes me now, and a Filipino guy named IAN. Enchanting, and truly touching to the heart…the way their voices blended wonderfully with each other.

Sunday night (yesterday)
Went to Joy’s surprise birthday party. Lots of Filipino food. Ginataan, pansit, SINIGANG, cake, and homemade fried chicken. WOW, just WOW!  Abs Diet…down the drain. Again.
It’s always good fun, when you celebrate a party with friends. Great cooking by the way Ate K and ate Mayen. You guys are the best.

Monday (today)
Feels like a fever is starting to build up. But, thanks to homemade pansit, AND ginataan…I think I should be fine.

Thats it for now, and goodnight and God bless.

To my wife and baby daughter…surprise surprise. Daddy’s coming home this week! I can hardly wait.

The Choices We Make

Sometimes I think that life does not need to be difficult nor should it be complicated. But I guess it all depends on the choices we make.

Everyday when we wake up, we are faced with a lot of choices.
We can choose to shower first, then eat. Or we can choose to start the day with a prayer.

When we go to work, we can choose to work hard, or "cheat" and take it easy…putting off things for tomorrow what we can definitely do for today.

We can choose to be swayed by our moods, and be grumpy and irritable, or take our lumps for the day, and count the blessings in our current circumstances.

One thing I learned a long time ago…no matter what the circumstances…there is always something that we can still be thankful for.

Here is a list of what I am thankful for:

1. My faith.
I am thankful that in July 2000, I have come to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I became a born again Christian since that day, and it truly changed my perspective in life. Definitely the BEST choice that I have ever made.

2. My wife and my daughter
Loving my wife and my daughter? The easiest choice in my life to make. hehehe…tama ba honey? See you soon sa birthday mo! I am coming home again! Are you ready for Matabungkay beach? (hehehe..surprise!)

3. my family
For all intents and purposes, I am a homeless man in Tokyo. Thanks to my sister Maricar, who has the choice to offer me a place to stay. Good ‘ol family!

4. my health
Thanks for all the prayers. During my yearly medical check, the results indicated a possible problem with my liver. But after a second, more extensive exam(ultrasound and blood test), it appears that my liver appears to be within "normal" levels. And I have been going to the gym regularly and playing hoops(sometimes a bit too much), so my weight has been within reasonable levels (64 kg, 2 nights ago). Yep…being in good shape is another EASY choice to make.

I am pretty sure that this list is longer, but for now I’ll choose to leave it at that.

Have a blessed day everyone. Its Sunday today, so time to prepare for church.

Fatigued, sore, pain. Mental. Physical.
Punishment, and retribution.

Only the strong survive, and the weak shall fall…or so they say.
Yet, the bible says, I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.

Feb 2008. The second annual Tokyo Marathon.
Its coming. And I am in.
